What happens if we tell them how? This luncheon will appeal to everyone, but if you and your support team cannot be out at the same time this is the luncheon we ask you to send your support team.

ECAD Commercial Compliance

Austin Energy logoEarlier this month a notice went out from Austin Energy to all commercial office properties advising “it’s not too late” to comply with the ECAD June 1 reporting requirement. The problem was, many of the recipients of the notice were already in compliance. Blue Ocean’s Bo Petersen brought the issue to the attention of the Sustainability Committee who raised the issue with the Austin Energy Major Accounts team. The result was Austin Energy took the concerns to heart and decided to implement a couple of changes for the 2017 compliance year. When they received the information from the BOMA team, Austin Energy immediately provided a copy of the Portfolio Manager data to the Customer Information Group to ensure they could see the Portfolio Manager submissions. Next, they initiated a plan to send a letter to all customers who have complied using Portfolio Manager. This letter is a “thank you” for their Portfolio Manager submission which means Austin Energy will notify them that the submission was received.

Finally, we are looking at ways to make the process better for years to come. As Austin Energy develops ideas and concepts, they would like to be able to call on the Sustainability Team for feedback. The Team will be there for you.

In the News graphicSummit photo

On Tuesday, June 27, the International Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) honored its top buildings and members at the BOMA International TOBY Awards Program & Banquet in Nashville, TN. The objective of The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards Program is to recognize excellence in building management, operating efficiency, tenant retention, emergency planning and community impact. The competition begins at the local level and local winners move to the regional level. Regional winners then compete internationally, against properties from all major cities in the United States and Canada.

BOMA Austin is pleased to announce that the HPI Team at Summit at Lantana led by General Manager Kathleen Goddard, won the International TOBY award in the Suburban Office Park Low Rise Category. Competition was extremely tough and they made Austin proud!
