Join a Committee
Becoming involved in a committee is one of the best ways to enhance your member experience with BOMA Austin. Committee participation provides countless networking and leadership development opportunities. Participating in a committee is also a rewarding way to gain a better understanding of the association. While the charges of each committee are strategically set by association leadership, it is up to committee members to accomplish yearly goals and objectives through the implementation of new ideas, execution of teamwork and realization of a shared vision. The work of BOMA Austin committees is vitally important to the success and progress of the association. Consider joining one of BOMA Austins many committees today.
Committee Descriptions
Membership is represented by the real estate owner, asset manager, property manager, facility manager, building engineering staff and other support staff.
Promotes the interests of the commercial real estate industry through legislative analysis, advocacy and member education. Maintains a watch on City, County, and other local governmental activities related to Codes, Regulations, and Statues impacting BOMA members.
Coordinates activities to benefit Austin charities and the community in general, in order to maximize the visibility and public awareness of BOMA Austin and to provide a vehicle for community service.
Plans educational offerings including local seminars in concert with other Committees and the BOMI courses.
The mission of the BOMA Austin Emerging Professionals Committee is to encourage member involvement in BOMA Austin by providing educational, career development and networking opportunities for members who have been in the industry for less than five years.
Responsible for the annual budget, monthly reporting, and bookkeeper. Management of financial policies, 990 process and audits/reviews.
Assist with planning our annual golf tournament.
Strengthens association membership through implementation of effective recruiting, mentoring and retention programs.
Plans and coordinates monthly luncheon program guest speakers and panels.
Assists with planning our annual Fall Event & other networking events as needed.
Assists with promoting The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) program including workshops, judging, awards & guidance for those that enter the competition. In addition to promoting the BOMA 360 & Annual Member Awards.

Involvement in a BOMA Austin committee is a benefit of membership, so only current members are permitted to sign up for committee service. If you are a member and interested in being on a committee, please do the following to join a committee(s):
- Log in to your member profile
- Click on the "Engagement" icon
- Select the "BOMA Committees" link
- Peruse the list of "Committees" then click on the "enter area" link of the committee(s) you are interested in
- Click the "Sign Up" icon, enter any comments in the "Additional Comments" box
- Click on the "Sign Me Up!" button
- A Committee Chair will receive your sign up notification and be in touch with you!
